Do you know anybody who has been inside ??

Do you think if you went to prison you could do OK or would you be somebody's bitch within a week ?

    Thoughts ??

i dont think the whole bitch aspect of it comes into play in most prisions. I've never been to prision but id say id manage ok if i went inside...........unless it was for a really long time..........

depends on where you go I'd say. Aparently the joy is really ****ty, and by all accounts a really depressing place, dunno whether being someone's bitch is a huge thing in English and Irish prisons, its a big thing in the states though.

I'd easily put up with giving/getting a few black eyes and broken bones, if someone attempted to make me their 'bitch'. I'd take no ****. :D

The women's prisons are a holiday camp.

I know a girl who worked in Mountjoy (women's) doing drama shops, and she went in on Christmas day to say hi to some inmates, and there were actually people banging on the door to get back in, after being let out to see their families for Christmas.

Apparently the men's prison is a complete sewer in comparison.

I remember talking to some drunk dude a few years back, who told me he'd been "down in Cork for two years". I thought he referring to living in Cork, so I told him, "Oh yeah, my brother's been down in Cork for just over a year now" (doin a Fás placement).
"Oh right. What did he do? I was put in for GBH".

And then it clicked with me. And I couldn't get rid of him until he started a fight with some English guy. :D

Prison gives people a great chance to turn around their lives, they can study for degrees, paint do workshops or just work out in the gym,i dont think prison is as bad now as some old movies make it out to be.

I dont really know them personally but I know of 3 brothers who are in prison together.A friend of mine went to visit them a while back. And I thought that coincidences like that only happened on Oz:D(think about it-how likely is it that Schillingers son,Alvarez father and grandfather,Ryans brother and Schibettas son would all end up in the same prison?)

I dont think the whole bitch thing is big in Ireland.Maybe its because while an Irish murderer can expect to get out 10-15 years into a life sentence in the states 25 and even 50 year murder sentences are not uncommon.I presume they just think"Fcuk it,I dont care what anybody in my family thinks of me"

Though I think the whole thing was quite popular in jails in the north, seeing as you had such a good chance of being killed in prison so it hardly mattered anymore to them.Johnny Adair was supposed to resort to it believe it or not.

There is something I have always wondered regarding the prison drug trade. How do prisoners have money inside the jail to be buying drugs? And how do the dealers get their money out of the prison?Always wondered about that. And how do they get the drugs in so easily?

I would say the roughest jail in Ireland is Limerick, seeing as there would be loads of people from those rival families in jail together.

One of the more common ways is when mothers come in to see their sons and they french kiss them to pass the drugs on.

The Guards know whats going on but they couldn't be bothered stopping this. Also, they don't really want to stop the drug thing as prisoners are easier to control if they're doped up.
(We had the warden from the joy telling us this in school a few years ago so no I haven't done time :))

Tbh I'd slit my wrists if I went to prison. Couldn't cope.
