Didnt know really where to post this but am just curious.

I wish to apply for a medical card, I live away from family, am unsupported by them, have a job (can be considered part time) and have finished college for the year, starting afresh in september.

so basically i just want to know if its possible for me to get a medical card.

My wages wouldnt really cover me going to the doctor without having to live off scraps for a week, so if i was means tested would that be taken into consideration.
Also, if means tested, would they look at my familys income as opposed to my own, considering i have been living away from home since august and am out on my own?

    I appreciate all advice.
    Thanks

when you apply for the medical card they give u all the information u need. AFAIK u can't get one if u earn more than 130e a week! which is bullshit imo

I imagine it you would have to have earnigns well under €250 a week to be entitled. Depending on age, I am not sure if they would take parents income into account, certainly if you are over 23 of *have to* live away from home, it wouldn't be counted
