    Just wondering what sort of minimum spec you'd need for 3D Studio Max. A friend wants to install it but his current PC would def not be up to it the way it is

    well you could get away with a PII 400 with 256mb, but its not goin to be exactly dandy.

    PIII 700 (133fsb) and above if you want it to be semi-tolerable, although some really detailed stuff will max out the most powerful of machines.

    For usable.. I'd go with at least a 1Ghz processor and at least 512Mb RAM... video card isn't too important.

    its not too bad when you're just creating stuff but when you go to render it you will definately notice the difference!
