Ritey...thanks for the interest in my twist forum, now i want to discuss the best film villans of allll time! I want your top three, the villans who u love or hated or loved to hate. The guys that made ur skin crawl or just pissed u off. And please guys, easy on the Darth Vader and LOTR stuff!

My top three ultimate film villans are:

1:Alex De Large - A Clockwork Orange (Charismatic, funny and completely of the wall, oh and culturally sound too!)

2: Tyler Durden - Fight Club (okay so he's not "evil" as such but he's kick ass cool and his philosphy is amazing.)

3: Verbal Kint - The Usual Suspects (Just for pulling the wool over everyone'e eyes, the audiences included.)

    Now let's hear yours..........

    Keyser Soze (Usual Suspects)

Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs ONLY!) :)
    Jack Torrance (The Shining)

    Gary Oldman - Leon
    Russel Crowe - Romper Stomper
Anthony Hopkins - Silence Of The Lambs
Ed Harris - Enemy At The Gates
    Paul Reiser - Aliens
    And of course, Lord Vader!

I'm also sickened to see that people actually suggested Stephen Dorf in Blade!?!? Dreadfull! He had all the charm of a spoiled brat. Luke Goss was a far, far better vampire. The Character had a real sickened Junkie mentality, making a very apt metaphor with the vampire genre, and he was by far, a seriously more detestable villan.

Terrence Stamp ruled as General Zod - he was possibly one of the greatest cartoon villians ever put to screen.

    (quotes grabbed from the IMDB)
General Zod: The next time -- we will kill him.
Lex Luthor: The next time, the next time? What am I going to do with you people huh? I hold up my end, delivered you the Blue Boy -- and what do I hear from my triple threat? "Bow, yield, kneel" -- that kind of stuff closes out of town.
General Zod: Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?

    President: Oh God
    General Zod: That's Zod

General Zod: Come to me, Superman! I defy you! Come and kneel before Zod! Zod!

    Ahh there is too many.

Agent Smith - the Matrix trilogy. He just exudes menace whilst being very understated and subtle.

Kaiser Soze - the Usual Suspects. Little is mentioned about the character other than the impression that just about everyone is scared shi*tless of him, thus letting you use your own imagination.

Gary Oldman - just about any film in which he plays the villian. He's just so bloody good at it :D

Alan Rickman - Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves & Die Hard

Jack Nicholson - Batman, a Few Good Men, the Shining

Tom Cruise - "LeStat" in Interview with a Vampire. A magnificent performance of the character from the vampire chronicles. So utterly, utterly ruthless and amoral.

BloFeld - the Bond 007 villian

Daniel DeFoe "The Green Goblin" - Spiderman. He played the part really well, right down to the schizo conversation with himself in the mirror :D

Speaking of Frank in Hellraiser, he was the ultimate psycho in Dirty Harry....... so good in fact, that he got feck all jobs in film after that.

also, one of my all time favorite scenes is when Clint beats the crap out of him, then the camera pans back out.....

Missing an obvious one I think:

Daniel Day Lewis - William Cutting, a.k.a 'Bill 'The Butcher' - Gangs of N.Y.

    ----
    What about Sauron - LOTR!

Actually I thought Dorff did a good job. I think he was supposed to come off as a spolied brat.
As for Goss well he was a reaper not a vampire so there. :p
Anyway I felt he got overshadowed in the film by Blades rivalry with the Blood Pack or whatever there name was.

    "MR ANDERSON !!"

Agent Smith in The Matrix. Hugo Weaving does such a good job with the otherworldy G Man. He's so straight faced but with just a hint of a sadistic personality. Its the mark of a good bad guy that you want him to lose, but you still want to see lots of him on the screen.

Reaper being a strain of Vampire...
And I rather liked the whole Rivalry, especially with Ron Pearlman, who I think is generally brilliant. It added more elements to the film, and gave it a kind of duality with the 'Villans'. Although perhaps Dorff was supposed to come across as a spoiled brat, I still find that he's basically the same in most of his films. Blood And Wine for example. I'd argue that it wasn't that he came off as a brat, rather that he actually is one.

    Here's a few you mightn't have considered:

The Hitcher - John Ryder - Rutger Hauer
The Green Mile - Sam Rockwell - Wild Bill
    Se7en - John Doe - Kevin Spacey
Children of the corn - All of them

christopher walken - any film he's been in, ever... he just looks so naturally evil.

hugo weaving/agent smith - "me me me..." "me too":D

daniel day lewis/bill the butcher - nuff said.

smeagol - purely for the schitzo conversation at the end of ttt, and the way he says "my preciousss"... just the way i'd imagined it:)

I didn't say the rivalry was a bad thing, I just said it overshadowed the part of Nomak (sp?).
As for Dorff, well I think it's the only film I've seen him. Or at least the only one I remember him in.

I wouldn't think the part of Nomak was overshadowed, rather than he was kept in the shade a lot, as a rather lurking fear... Especially as in the part where he just appears in the sewers to tell Whistler a little secret. But seeing as all the storylines tied up in the end, it all came together with equal relevance. Which was impressive, hats off to DelToro as director. Incidentally I should be getting my mitts on The Devil's Backbone tomorrow, or soon next week.

Dorff is quite dreadfull in most of what I've seen of him in. S.W.F. was quite a crap film, as was Space Truckers... In fact, I can safely say I quite hate Dorff as an actor. He blows! He put me off seeing Cecil B. Demented, even though I do still want to see the film.

    Anyway... Enough ****e from me.

Walken in a classic scene with Denis Hopper from True Romance:

"I'm the Anti-Christ. You get me in a vendetta kind of mood, you'll tell the angels in heaven that you had never seen evil so singularly personified as you did in the face of the man who killed you."

    Also from True Romance:

"You see that? *Slam* That smarts, doesn't it - to get slammed in the nose. ****s you all up. Get that pain shooting through your brain, your eyes fill up with water. That ain't any kind of fun, but what I have to offer you, that's as good as it's gonna get, and it won't ever get that good again."

    Pure Genius!
