    Always kinda wanted an early landcruiser . They dont seem to sell though. Guessing its the price folks put on them.

    Theres a load of those pottering around rural Romania , in RHD too, no idea of sale prices or where to look but if you fancied a longer distance import it might save you money.

    A few guys out to make a few quid on Aus imports. They can be had for reasonable money, especially ex farm and mining trucks. If you get a good deal on shipping then landing a good one in Ireland for 8 or 9 grand is very possible. I'd love one, but prices are prohibitive at the minute.

    There's a guy in wexford doing full rear tubs and body panels, you'll find him on donedeal. Other than that its mostly eBay or the like

    Pm me if you like, I fully restored one a few years ago. Did everything, new wiring, rebuilt chassis, new panels etc etc etc. I still have plenty of contacts

    We have just restored my father in laws. I’ve been told it’s only one of 3 in Ireland which has been his since new. Drove it out of a well known Toyota dealer in 1981, they’ve even tried to buy it back on many occasions for a lot more than 20k. A 20k import may look cheap but that’s just the start... It’s 20k for a reason. If I was looking for a BJ40 I’d try source an original Irish one and then start a restoration. A pal of mine recently bought a ‘mint’ Portuguese one at auction that had spent its time in Africa, let’s just say another 20k may have got it ‘mint’. He doesn’t have it anymore. Be careful out there.

    Yes. Repossed from McCabe’s in Drogheda, was part of his private collection. Originally Indonesian, restored in California. Bought at auction in 2015 for €42k plus buyers premium and then put up by Paddy for €72k. Sold for €65k eventually. If it was Irish it would have gone for more ��.

    It would have been worth that to the original dealer seller but only to him. Tax deductible business expense and great advertising. But that doesn't mean it would be worth 20 to anybody else ! I would pay more for a car i used to own that the guy next to me.

    Checker plate has always been used to hide a plethora of nasties, one would want to be really careful for that sort of rope.

    Heartache right there. Rust in all the usual places. You could start at 20k+ to get that right, and that’s just the body, and then you have the engine, suspension and brakes...
