Are the lunatics running the asylum now?

Teachers in Florida are to be allowed carry guns into the classroom, under new laws which are going to approval of the governor in Florida. Apparently the best way to keep guns out of schools, is to bring them in apparently.

I really don’t know where the world is going when I read stuff like this. I thought humanity was making steps towards peace and enlightenment, but the last few years the whole place is going to **** altogether. There is no ****ing way I would allow my kids into a school where the teachers carry guns, not under any circumstances.

The USA has its issues with gun control, but surely there is no coherent argument anyone can make for this, is there?

    I weep for the future.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

If your own children attended a school, would you rather have the teachers armed or not?

Fook no, what the hell are you smoking?

Just to add that teaching is one of the most stressful jobs out there, you really want someone under daily stress to be carrying a gun in the vicinity of your child, really?

Not, you'd like to think the school has an effective security set-up to keep everyone safe.

The students should be armed too, in case a teacher goes rogue.

Lisa: But isn’t that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we’re overrun by lizards?

Skinner: No problem. We simply release wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They’ll wipe out the lizards.

Lisa: But aren’t the snakes even worse?

Skinner: Yes, but we’re prepared for that. We’ve lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.

Lisa: But then we’re stuck with gorillas!

Skinner: No, that’s the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death.

Shocking news. Who would have ever expected Americans to come up with something so insane? There's really no precedent for it.

Anyone fancy taking a bet on how long before we have either the first "going postal" classroom/teachers common room massacre or the first school shoot out between pupil/s and teacher/s.

There was a recent headline about another shooting in the US and I didn't even read up about it. No idea where or how many were shot. That's how prevalent and disturbingly Meh shootings are in the US. I've said it before that Sandy Hook was the event horizon for gun control in America. Nothing of note was done, there were even conspiracy theories surrounding it. Nothing will ever be done and it's just the new normal.

Did you quote someone else or are those your own words?
Are you in Florida, or safely in a small town in Leitrim with zero crimes?

It's a sign of how mental that country is, that a question like that even get's asked!

I honestly think they are beyond help - the horse has not only bolted, it's bolted so far it's gone feral. They're fúcked up beyond any measure of rationality or sanity at this stage.

They are both in the OP, and my initial reply to you.

I know your username is in bold, and you have all those yellow highlighted forums under your name, but in reality, they don’t mean sh1t.

My location means **** all really, and it’s relevance even less so.

Its totally relevant when it has no bearing on your life what so ever.

Is there any stats on teachers shooting up school in AMERICA or is all this uproar u feel over notthing, its the latter.

So because I don’t live in America i’m not allowed an opinion on matters?!?! Good to know.

Do we need to narrow that down more now? Localize it to my Village perhaps? Only permitted to comment on matters I may be involved in personally?

Good to know the usual loons are on patrol to make sure we all know our place.

Teachers in Florida to be permitted to pistol whip students.

I'd be in favour of it tbh it should prevent any potential mass shooting in a school in Florida in the future. To the people saying teaching is a really stressful job so they shouldn't have a gun with them in school. Couldn't they just go home get a gun comeback in the next day and shoot people and if anyone can point me to a situation where this has already happened I'd be grateful.

Come on people, we all know how fcuking stupid teachers are...
Most of our leaders have been ex-teachers ffs

Now they wanna arm these dopes? :pac:

    How should it?

It's an absolutely insane idea, and it's brought on because Trump won't stand up to the NRA, who really run the asylum.

Teaching is enormously stressful some times. No way a teacher should be allowed carry. If it's such an issue, money should be spent on security guards with guns, and even that is a stretch of what I think is acceptable.

    Fairly simple logic here:

Student or someone comes into school armed with a gun or weapon with the intent of murdering people and the teacher shoots them before they cause any harm.

Talkin' outta turn? That's a shootin'.
Lookin' out the window? That's a shootin'.
Staring at my sandals. That's a shootin'!
Shooting the school canoe? Ooooh, you better believe that's a shootin'...

If that is a possibility then the school should have armed and trained security guards.

There could possibly not be enough funds available in a schools budget to pay for a security guard therefore, I'm assuming arming teachers is the solution they've come up it with due to budget restrictions if there is any.

They already do. Why not add more protection to the classroom
