Improve strength in left arm

I am naturally right handed and also right footed and as can be expected my right side is stronger than my left, however I feel that my left arm is a fair bit weaker than my right and should be a bit more closer in strength to my right arm.

I have lately noticed a bit of pain in my left forearm after doing bicep curls with a barbell and any other forearm/bicep exercises.

I gave it a week off and the pain went but again came back when I continued with bicep curls, it is not unbearable but still annoying.

How would I go about increasing my strength in my left arm?

Should I do less weight but more reps or the other way around?

    What exercises would people recommend?

Note: I am not seeking medical advice with this post as I know the reason for the pain.

    Thanks

Start using dumbbells more. It should eventually even everything out.

hi LFC5Times, great name by the way. I have the same problem myself and only recently joined a gym,the instructor noticed this and put me on a 6 week programme of using the weight machines and not to do any free weights just yet so i can improve my overall strenght in both arms,he said after the 6 weeks i should start to notice the difference. hope this helps in some way.

I think it would depend on the pain. It could be DOMS or pain from the weight your using being too heavy. However it could also be due to a medical issue such as an old injury. Unless the reason behind the pain is known, ways to improve it are hard to recommend.
