I used to be a very fit guy mainly cycling and mountaineering since my early teens, but over the past years have done the typical Thirty year old thing, got married, build a house and life got in the way of any fitness Regine - I Basically put on 3 stone in weight over the past 5/6yrs - I'm now 37yrs old.
I decided In January this year that enough was enough and I need to get into shape - A bit of history - Some of my family have battled with their weight and I have always had to work hard to stay in shape. At 5' 8" I was always around 11stone, but gradually until Christmas my weight sneaked up to 14stone 2 - I had a pretty good diet and avoided any rubbish and only ate 3 regular meals a day - I avoided snacks and ate plenty fruit/veg.

I started kayaking at Christmas and got hooked, I then got advice from a college at work (His wife is a fitness instructor) about my diet (he told me I was under eating) so started eating more regular small amounts. I have also started running over the past 5weeks - I got a good program giving me a gradual build up and achievable targets. I'm currently doing 3 to 4 x 25min sessions a week (My treadmill session this week is 5min warm up/ 3min run/ 90sec fast walk/5min run/ 90sec fast walk/ 3min run/ 90sec fast walk/ 5min run) then warm down and stretches. I also train in the kayak at least once a week paddling for around 1-2hrs.
On changing my diet in January my weight fell to around 13.7stone By end of Feb, When I started running 5wks ago it dropped to around 13stone in April BUT that's it - Nothing has moved in 4weeks!!! Actually it's back up to around 13.4stone yesterday
Everyone has noticed a marked change in my body shape over the past month, especially people whom I haven't saw in a while and know nothing about me training - But Why Am I not loosing any weight????
Obviously I'm doing something wrong - Please HELP!!!

Post up your diet (in detail) and people will be able to point out what you can improve.

Also, do weights. :) Building muscle will increase matabolism.

I work shiftwork, 3 days on/ 4 days off so have two diets, one for days off and one for my working day.

    Working day
6:30am - Piece of fruit on way to work
    7:00am - Cup of T
    9:00am - Cereal with Semi-skimmed milk + piece of fruit + cup of T.
1:30pm - Lunch: Brown bread sandwich with Piece of fruit
    5:00pm - Low fat yogurt
    Workout when I get home at 8pm - 9pm
9:30pm - Dinner: Average meal, normal average portion

    Day Off
    9:00am - Cereal with semi-skimmed milk + cup of T
    2:00pm - Brown bread sandwich
6:00pm - Dinner: Average meal, normal average portion
    Workout around 8pm
10:00pm - Yogurt of piece of fruit.

Hum, my diet is not that great when I write it down!!!
BUT surely not that bad that my weight isn't changing whilst working out.

As much advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
    Thanks
