    Hey guys,

Anyone here do the goal mile in belfield(UCD)? I did it for my first time this year and clocked up 6 minutes 23 seconds. I'm really happy with the result because I wanted to beat 6.30 and I did.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    6:23 's respectable ! I came in at 6.58.

But one guy did 4.58 - 2 minutes faster.

I did mine out in Lucan.

I'm happy coz this year I managed to avoid being lapped by my 14 year-old son! I did 8 minutes exactly and he did 6:04. Last year he lapped me just before the end (for him). My 10 year-old daughter did 9:35 and another son (12) ran 11:01 (he did 9:35 last year ).

Last year I did 8:32, so I'm quite happy to be getting faster as I age. :) Right hammie is very sore today, though.

He is a bit young to be hitting the beer at 12? ;)

This went over my head completely.

Unfortunately, at my age, this is getting all too frequent. :(

What is a mile long route around Belfield? Or was it just laps of the running track?

Wasn't there, but from what I saw on TV it was around the running track.

4 times around the track. Feels like 10 times!

4 laps around the track is a mile.
I wonder wht I'd get doing it on my own, without anyone else on the track. I want to get it down to at least 5.55. Want to get my best.

You get a lot of messers going in that race in Belfield. I saw one old dear pushing a pram around the track! The danger is you fall over one of them

I think it might be a better bet to do it on the track in Irishtown. There's a Goal mile there to. You could get a clear run on that track!

I made sure to start at the front so as to get as accurate a time as possible aswell as not having crowds getting in my way.
