    Can anyone recommend a course or qualification that I should study if I want a qualification of some sort in computers? e.g. something that would be of practical use in the next few years.

    It would have to be done at night or part-time as I'm working - any suggestions?

    whitehall college does several night courses and are very cheap. however conor, i suspect you are prolly not interested in cisco or web design. they also do ecdls and mous cetificates afaik

    what sort of qulification are you looking for? hardware, software, networking, development, admin?

    I don't rightly know in all truth - something that would help me get a decent job earning over 25k a year would be handy smile.gif

    What about Red Hat Certified Engineer if you are into the unix side of things..

    If you got one of them add 10-15k on top of what you asked for in that last post smile.gif

    while on the topic - the ecdl is a bit of a joke isn't it? My sister is doing one (I laughed at her) and had to ask how to format a disk rolleyes.gif

    Well at the start of the CD version it says 'click here if you don't know how to use a mouse'...
    obviously designed by geniuses

    castor troy would you not consider on line training from your own pc. Same courses available only you do it yourself in your own time from the comfort of home.no classes no traveling and very cheap. You also get a microsoft cert when you pass.

    I'll do the ecdl the day I wear a helmet when riding a bike.

    I was watching this program on National Geo where this gorilla, after mastering sign language, passed the ecdl.

    ECDL = PANTS!!!

    Conor - I recommend some JAVA or XML type courses to grab some good cash. But, it of course depends on your desire to become a programmer (pronounced nerd) wink.gif

    All the best,

    MCP are not worth a lot, what you want is MCSE, or Red Hat if your good at linux

    I have a job at a kick-ass company after doing a 6-month FAS course and working a year in ****ty company for crap pay as trainee NT admin. biggrin.gif NT4 MCSE is friggin joke passed most of exams with next to no study at all(but it is retired as of the end of this year). MCSE Win2K is some serious **** though. Many areas you can specialise in Active Directory looking especially juicy.

    P.S If you have 4 core NT4 MCP exams you can get 2 2000 electives before end of 2001 and get your NT4 MCSE qualification, biggrin.gif
