    hey

here are a few pics I took today of my 66 morris min superdelux. I've been dusting off the winter cobwebs and getting her back on the road this week. A battery recharge, a jerry can of fresh fuel and she turned over first time, blew out the oil that had seeped past the pistons and she was great... brakes pulling up straight and hydrolastic suspension working fine.

Sorted tax and insurance, 257 fully comp thru AXA for me and the mrs...fab, then this morning got a letter in the door giving us a 45 quid refund on our house insurance...BONUS. Tax is great as usual 42 smackers.... no actually i dont need an NCT ta very much....

Love the chrome edge around the wheel arches
Love the wheels - are they original?
    Love the external hinges
Really love the bumpers with the little raised corner pieces.

    Class.

    Nice Mini green-blood !

Looks like a really well-maintained car.
    Happy motoring !

cheers guys... everything bar those wheels is original. she came on 10x3 inch steels with crossplie tyres - these are now safely stacked in the back garden.... you have to have radials for safety if its to be used regular. (hmm not touched tarmac since august and he says regular)

Lovely car green-blood. Great to see her in such good nick and on the road.

    O/T
How much would a car like that go for?
Would it suit a first time driver?

you'd need to put 6000 on the table to start a discussion....

as far as a first car goes you wouldnt be advised to use a mk1 as a daily driver learner, plenty of 80s/90s minis that could do that job.

    very tasty :)
put some flared wheel arches and deep dish wheels and she'll be a beauty :)

Thats one neat looking mini - love the wheels.
I had a gem of a red mini as my normal car in the early 90's - a 1981 HL - tinted glass, nice seats, lovely radio - it gave me great service and I got £1,000 into my hand when I sold it in 1992. :D
I did get a lot of Mr Bean jokes but I suppose thats part of the course with such a car

    Hi Green-Blood,

    149-50 ? You was robbed :)

1966 she would have been on the road for around £350 > £400-00 ?

I bet she didn't look as good back then as you have it today, the wheels are a tasteful modification as is the chrome strip around the wheel arches.

Was it one of the first to come with the newer clock layout and the starter button no longer on the floor ?

I always liked the mini great fun to drive around town you have put a lot of TLC into this one,

    Happy motoring,

    Peter.

Yeah, we still have the Steel wheels on crossplies, but for safety sake went for radials and the wheels are nice.
She is the superdeluxe model and so came with the 3 clock (originally associated with early cooper models), extra chrome, seatbelts and the wheel arch trim is original
She is on hydrolastic suspension and the ride is nice and smooth compared with more modern minis which have stiffer suspension.
