I'm curious as to how many partners people have had in their lives so far. It's an anonymous poll so I'd appreciate if you could try and keep it close to reality guys

What is the hang up in this country about sex? I'm 24, have had more partners than the poll allows. Because, I enjoy sex. I enjoy everything about it. The chase, the hunt, the catch, the feeling between two people. But here it seems to be the less is better. While some might say it's a noble thing to have one partner, what are you missing out on? You can't say nothing because you haven't experienced it. I have experienced a long term relationship (5 years) and I have experienced sleeping around.
I find nothing wrong with it all. It's not degrading to myself nor the other person. I still find the act of sex special between two people. I treat them well, use protection and not run out the door afterwards.

Papa Smut, I see where you're coming from but wouldn't you say that sex with someone you love is usually better than a meaningless one-night thing? I've had my share of both and have to say that I prefer the former by orders of magnitude. There's nothing wrong with casual sex, I enjoy it immensely, but I still prefer the kind of sexual experience you can only really achieve with someone you love...

Dude - up to 2 weeks ago I would have disagreed with you but since breaking up with my girlfriend, I've gone on the hunt many times since, been successful many times - sometimes not so successful, but the chase is half the fun.... & it's like having a selection box

i'm just so glad i'm not of those people who settled down when they met their first girlfriend in school.

sex with someone you love is the ideal but sex with someone who really turns you on, whether you just met them or not is amazing in a whole other way. once everyone is careful then it's all down to personal preference. i like selection boxes. especially finger of fudge...

I didn't bother, don't think that being any of the categories above means much about someone's sexual performance tbh. I've slept with women who had been around the block that were useless and I've slept with virgins that were amazing in bed. True, the more experience one has, the better one tends to be at something, but the number of people you've been with doesn't really come into the equation much.

I think beyond a certain point, one's abilities in bed don't really count as a factor as what makes for great sex, once neither of you is completely clueless I think it's far more down to compatability...

My opinion on this is a mix of a number of peoples postings..

I think that sex in a commited relationship can be exceptional on an emotional and physical level.

Sex with a stranger can be exceptional on a mental and physical level, it's often raw and unbridled and you can lose your inhibitions.

Both can also be really bad if the person is the wrong person, if there is no spark there. With some people it's electric at every touch, with others it's cold and mechanical.

Your ability in bed does dictate how enjoyable sex can be, after all if you're satisfying your partner then they are more likely to want to satisfy you. It's like a mutual appreciation society thing

but ability counts for nothing if the spark isn't present to begin with.

Thankfully I've only had the electric kind with one special person in a committed relationship. Wouldn't have any interest trying a one-nighter / random encounter tbh. Did I mention I'm a bit of a prude with morals that preclude random fumbles. :rolleyes:
