What to download... What to download...

I know! - Another snazzy WinAmp visualisation plugin!

    but which one?

I already have Climax, Geiss, KataFX 2001 KataScape, Black & White Bear, MilkDrop, Nullsoft Tiny Fullscreen and the WildTangent Christmas and Valentines girlies.

That B&W dancing bear rocks, btw wink.gif - can be gotten on www.bwgame.com

So!... Anyone got any (good) recommendations for what WinAmp visualisation plugin(s) to get?

No probs... anyway- it was plugins I was looking for, not skins... visualisations mainly, but others too...

I just downloaded Pacemaker 1.1 for WinAmp with which you can control tempo, pitch and speed of songs... something that was always missing from the program- will be handy for DJ'ing smile.gif

[Edit]: Heh, Clapton's "Layla (Unplugged)" sounds kinda groovy with the tempo upped by 50% and pitch lowered by 0.10 oct smile.gif

    lol... Billy Joel: Uptown Girl - Tempo: +20% - Pitch: -0.10 oct - Speed + 10% - ... hey... you've got Westlife!!! biggrin.gif hahaha

Wow... That is an interesting plugin...

But I doubt you could really do anything to speed Nick Barker's Drumming! biggrin.gif

I think I know what you're looking for now though, and I don't think I can help you...

Actualy, if anyone has any decent one that I might be interested in, pop down a link please...

basically, either something useful that you can effect the audio with or some eye-candy that jumps about to the tempo smile.gif

Bloomin' Pacemaker plugin seems to crash WinAmp every so often - most often when trying to play a new track or close the program. Annoying, so it is... even though it's quite a good plugin.

If you've installed it, are having similar problems, and want to disable it, just go to the Plugins folder in your WinAmp folder and rename the dsp_pacemaker.dll file (as dsp_pacemaker.dll.bak for example) (... Do this while WinAmp is closed).

    Sorry 'bout that...

hmm geiss and milkdrop are the only decent ones going as far as full screen goes with CJ's 3D OpenGL plugin worthy of a mention as its pretty impressive with very heavy beat stuff (does a tunnel effect and goes mad with loads of bass).

    as for windowed:
KataFX is a fast kaleidoscope effect with good beat and general tempo detection, don't really use it though.

nullsofts wvis is pretty excellent and just attachs to winamp nicely in the corner, good load of options on it and again is pretty fast.

but is up on file planet. I don't know why I should have to registered to get spammed to get a free file.

As for Son of a beach :/ That program is spyware although at least they are nice enough to tell you.

slightly off topic... just been playing with a few DSP plugins, most notably RealReverb, this thing is goddamn freaky to say the least, choose the tada.wav as the impulse response and listen as your favourite tune gets turned into a swirly ambient seascape.. weirdness, but damn soothing, all the rest of the .wavs just seem to do crappy echos and ****, but this is mad.

Not only that though, IT (specifically) "b0lloxed" IE on a Win2K machine of mine and I ended up reinstalling the O/S (for that and various other reasons)...

Winamp Visualisation is very hard to get good ones, i have set up installations, quite good ones i mite add in pubs/clubs and to a lesser extent cars...yip cars!...very good if you run your vga through a splitter and have a lite-pro projection onto a big screen...awesome effect!...but like you bard i can't find a GOOD one, i once seen one which was like ET running and went with the beat and all the rest couldn't find it again tho!...theres some site called moozic that's suppose to have plugins but i cant find that site either, so basically i haven't helped you out. But the normal viz that comes with winamp is snazzy also if you want to mix on your pc..... http://www.pcdj.com is the place to go...nice tool.

imo one of the best standard plugins is still the original Nullsoft Visualization Library plugin (came with the early versions of winamp).

The "3D Spectrum Analyszer Dot Plane" thing they have is just amazing on a decent machine (just recently installed it on my new one, last time i ran it was on a 166 heh)

I use Jet mostly. Eonic while technically quite good gets boring after a while and it's beat detection doesn't seem the Mae West.

Jet is nice and trippy and plays well on the lower end pc I use as an MP3 server connected to my hifi and Tv.
