    Hey guys, I want to write a short story and I'm looking for some ideas I could write about. Im a good enough writer once I start going but sometimes I feel my short story going nowhere and having no real point at the end of it. I want to write a short story that means something, one that would make you stop and think, you know?. So any good ideas for a short story for me?

    Hey sciox,

    Firstly, the idea of the story is 80% of what being a writer is all about. The number one piece of advice given to all writers is to write about what you know. You should think about some situations like, I dunno, a man facing retirement and not sure what to do with his life until one day he disovers..... you can take it from there. It's not easy but you should try and write something every day, and by your post count I can see you're working on that already.
    If you're writing something everyday that you enjoy you will be surprised at how much you want to keep writing it. Also, planning the story in a notebook will help so you dont lose sight of what you're doing and how to get there.
