    Hi guys,
Just wondering if any of you have ever done this. I have someone who wants to be able to add a disclaimer to their e-mail so that all e-mail sent will have their company logo etc on it. Have looked it up briefly on the wqeb, found some third party s/w companies that do it but I would have thought you can do it through exchange. Anyone out there can help???

    Thanks in advance
    Japs

    Company Logo ?
Don't they realise that a lot of email servers and Outlook 2000/2003 will automatically block/or remove image files in incoming HTML emails. And there is all the extra bandwidth - make sure it's a small one.

    Options:
Edit the signature of all users
    Edit the default email template.
For exchange 5.5 there was a dll that you loaded and then regedited an entry to get the discalaimer - ie. a major Hack and not recomended if you can avoid it.
Check your Exchange AntiVirus product (you have one right?) many of them can add disclaimers.

    Have a look at www.slipstick.com - http://www.slipstick.com/addins/content_control.htm
There is no equivalent of the Imsext.dll for Exchange 2000. It is not really needed since Exchange 2000 supports synchronous event sinks that allow you to write your own code to work with incoming or outgoing messages. See HOW TO: Add a Disclaimer to Outgoing SMTP Messages in Visual Basic Script

Also you would need to be careful of forwarded emails in case the disclaimer format upsets them.

Thanks for that, don't really want to go messing with the registry, do you know is the a global signature that I can configure so that everyone that sends a mail externally has this signature at the bottom of their mail?

    Thanks for your help.

    No idea,
places to look - Tools , Forms , Design a Form , Message etc. , Save as *.msg
or download the Office Resource Kit that allows you to customise the install and generate an MSI based on a user you've setup with signatures etc.
One pain in the neck is that when users swap machines or you have to create new profiles the settings may be lost, so don't promise that every email will have the logo since there are too many ways for users to bypass, turn off and loose the config.
