Tonight's features the return of Richard Hatch as Tom Zarek, as whom he put in a fine performance as in "Bastille Day".

I'm not really expecting much to go on tonight. I think its next week that things really get interesting, ho hum.

    It was crap!
Well uhm, not sure what to make of this episode. There was a lot of political backstabbing and setting up of plots for season 2, but the episode seemed somewhat lacking otherwise.

Nice twist at the end though, and we finally got to see more of the Cylon plan besides.

    Oh and:

"Now I give you an exclusive." :D

    Rated it "okay"

I likes a bit of political backstabbery I does. Baltar proves that he is quite a capable handler of people when he's not backed into a corner and Fenster's very interesting theories on the destiny of everyone's favourite Phd gain a little more credence.
Ellen proves that she is eeeeveeel! Eeeveel I tell you. It would appear that Zarek is far from a nice man but his degree of involvement isn't certain yet (although he's very likely the driving force behind an assasination plot), and the caprica plot takes another step forward. I find it interesting that starbuck managed to outrun the gunman while on a cane ;) but that's just a niggling little problem. Rated it great partially by accident. Was deciding between okay and great when I accidently clicked on the vote link. I'd give it a "quite good" or something if the option was there but that's just me being niggly* again

Still, it's all a lot better than what follows BSG. "Proof Positive" will ruin Amanda Tapping for me like "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" ruined Jonathan Frakes. For some reason, a psychic horse named "Count Mystery" still plagues my mind when I'm watching re-runs of TNG.

    *I can invent words too!

I found Starbucks wasting of water in the garden when only a few episodes ago there was a shortage disgracefull behaviour

Oh, and I got the strong impression the cast had an absolute ball shooting in whatever hotel/confrence centre they used.

Earthman to answer the question - they found water and BSG can recycles all water so think it was ok.Otherwise how the hell do they water the plants?

Ep was OK not the greatest - seen much better.
End of it was class - at last Caprica gets good.

    Helo -> dead man walking.

Rated it great, the fight scene in the bar was cool and plenty of Baltar... wicked.

Nice shots of the fleet with plenty of vipers on CAP.

Actually laughed out loud when baltar tried to look up that birds skirt... priceless!!!

    I've just one question.
Who was the guy, who the president thanked for all his hard work and who she asked to run for Vice President and then backstabbed.

I dont remember EVER seeing him before.

For a few moments there, I thought she was going to suggest her aide.

    Baltar was classic, as usual.
Cant help but wonder if Six was behind his excellent speaking skills or if he can actually speak well, when not under pressure.
It seems to me, that a man with his secrets, would always feel under pressure whenever he is talking to anyone, especially if he is being broadcasted to every human within earshot... live.

Was that a little homage to Basic Instinct when Six points out the media woman who has been eyeing Gaius up? Certainly reminded me of that infamous scene anyway, along with Six's comment! ;) And now he's the Vice-President - a genius stroke considering the power he stands to inherit should The President shuffle off this mortal coil sooner than expected and possibly pre Presidential election.

I think she called him Wally. For me he'll always be Pusher from the X-Files! You're right though - where the hell did this guy appear out of?

Ellen wasn't quite as annoying this time out but she is to be held in high suspicion, especially considering she has hinted at plans for both Tigh and Tom Zarek!

I was thrilled to finally see a Caprica cliffhanger! It seemed a little flat for me in that it could have been a bit more tense but at least Helo's getting wise to the humanoid Cylons!

    It was okay...
I rated it 'Great' only on the assumption that 'Great' should actually be 'Good'. And that was mostly for Helo finally getting some plot development on Caprica!

I can quite enjoy politically maneouver episodes like this one. I still maintain my idea about Zarek splitting the fleet may come about - the close call here showed as much. Incidentally, did anyone else wonder if the Prez. somehow rigged the election at the end and that the last card should've read Zarek and not Baltar?

Baltar as vice prez - heh! Fits in with his Messiah complex. That speech he gave today would never have come from his stuttering lips a few episodes ago. Just how Six will take advantage of this is unknown.

    Only 2 episodes left!

No. The representative from that colony would have thrown a fit.

I would believe Baltars speech came from Baltar and had nothing to do with six. Infact when Six is nearby and speaking to him healways seems to stutter and seem distracted.

We saw Baltar speaking in public in the mini series and he was quite good.

    LOL true true! :D

and now hes vice pres!! :O, just goes to show whatever reservations the Pres had about Baltars character and the fact he may be a nutter constantly talkin into thin air, If he gets the votes in, we want him on our side! politics!!!

" shouldnt u get that washed, its been 3wks since u had it cleaned"
" are u critisizing my hygiene?"
    " u have hygiene?" LOL :D:D:D:D
(Starbuck did look a bit minging in the locker room but she sure does scrub up well) :) ];)

It was weird seeing all the vegetation it looked as if was shot on a planet, (i know it was on the Dome space garden shipd thing)
    Overall pretty good.

Any news on 2nd series ?:|

    Me too, he's class.

Overall I thought that episode was very good, but lacking a very good option I voted great. Finally the Caprica plot goes somewhere. Can't wait to see Helo either put a bullet in Sharon or himself. Either that or he'll make it through the entire Cylon army and escape.

The only thing I would moan about battlestar
is the director always close up shots of people faces

I heard you on wireless (sound a little old to me)

Like ixoy, I rated it 'Great' because it was better than 'Okay', but not 'Amazing'. :)

It was one of those episodes that alone cannot be considered a classic, but is a solid link in the chain of 13 (and beyond into season 2) with lots of groundwork for the impending finale.
Nice location shooting, bit more expensive that shooting on the standing sets, but they were still saving money on this one -- hopefully for a few Base Stars in the finale, please!! :D

I thought Wally's appearance, like others have mentioned, a little annoying because a bit of continuity would've been nice at this stage, and would certainly have made his damning remarks to President Roslin about being sneaky a little more hard-hitting than they were. She didn't seem to be too phased, so why should we? Also I thought she was going to pick Baltar initially to run for VP, so it seemed like a little bit of filler to have this guy get jerked around.
Tom Zarek was nicely played, but is it just me, or does he blink/move his head weirdly a lot of the time??
Ellen..we knew she was a slut, and now we know she's at least an accomplice to murder (but it wouldn't surprise me if she killed the gunman herself), but still no answer on the Cylon front. I think I'd just prefer her to be an opportunistic hussy at this stage, than a Cylon advancing their goals through Zarek.

Gaius was excellent as always, Starbuck continues to kick ass, even with her bum leg, and Apollo was topless :o

Caprica...I liked the bit of action towards the end, though I'm hoping Helo still takes Boomer away with him on the getaway ship, if only to have her arrive back at the fleet after Galactica Boomer has been exposed as a traitor and killed. Or better yet, after Galactica Boomer has tragically died, and no one knew she was a Cylon :p

Or better yet, have galactica boomer finally come to terms with her evil cyloness and come out of her 'Sleeper' state only for Caprica Boomer and Helo to arrive back near the fleet and scupper her evil plans and bump her off before the rest of the crew find out she's a cylon and then Caprica semi-goody cylon boomer takes her place. Caprica boomer arrives back on the raptor posing as galactica boomer and says "Look who I found on my scouting mission, its Helo!!................eh erm, maybe I've put too much thought into my boomer fantasies? :D:D

    It was crap!
now that they have kickstarted the boomer-caprica story (at long last)... here is what I would do with it if I had my way..

    1) Helo on run from bad-boomer as we know
    2) Bad-Boomer madly in love, tries to catch up and explain
    3) Helo shoots boomer thinking its another clone, only to find he has killed the 'lover' by mistake
    4) Another boomer chases him to ship, where he escapes and heads for BSG
    5) Season 2... he meets up with BSG and faces BSG-boomer and is now presented with interesting will he/wont he story arc....

Will he dish her to the authorities as a cylon, or will he have enough guilt at killing the original caprica-boomer that he tries to 'woo' her back into his affections, figuring that if it worked on one of them it might work on another... in a misguided attempt to 'save' her from her programming etc.

I'll leave the rest up to your imaginations:)

Only okay this time, although like many of you I felt it deserved something between okay and great.

The episode just seemed a bit flat. Even the prisoner being bumped off didn't cause any shock. Who killed him? Don't really care.

On the bright side Baltar continues to dazzle and Helo finally found out about Boomer. What happens if she manages to tell him she is preggers?
