    Hi guys,

Ive an Ideal Logic C30. Im planning to fit a Tado thermostat to it using opentherm. I need to get the plug to connect on my boiler side, but cant find an Irish seller of it, or a UK site that ships to here. Anyone got a recommendation? It looks like a generic molex, but I cant find one that looks right.

Have you considered using parcel motel for shipping from UK? I think An Post has similar.

That's a possibility, but it will bring the cost of a simple plastic plug up to over 40 euro, so it will be a last resort!

For reference for anyone that needs, the connector is a Lumberg Rast 3611 connector. Fanell sell them for peanuts. The internet is a great resource:)

A quick follow up to this, the Lumberg Rast 3611 connector needs a small modification to fit. There are small keyed plastic tabs that you can snip off with a side cutters. Still worth it, as they are less than a 10th of the price of the official connector from Ideal.

    Evening

Just wondering if you have any reference docs for the wiring set-up for having the boiler/Tado opentherm and wondering then how a water heating zone is handled?

    Thanks

What boiler do you have? Mine was all in my boiler manual. I don't have a water heater unfortunately. My boiler is a combi boiler.

About to switch, as far as I know, to an Ideal but plumber needs to confirm which one. It will be a system boiler though so trying to figure out if I can switch my Tado setup to the opentherm option. Will wait and see which boiler model he finally recommends first so. Do you find that the opentherm is worth it by the way?

    And thanks for reply!

Mine is Ideal, and I have to say the accompanying documentation was great. Tado also has a great setup guide itself

    Best of luck with it

Opentherm has great reviews. Weather is a bit warm to test it at the moment:)

However, when I did the installation, the short runs clearly seemed different. My old Nest thermostat was on/off. With the Tado I could hear it running low due to the house being warm. So it seemed to be modulating.

Are you doing this to get modulation? Will you have weather compensation?

Doing this because I had to change out my Nest thermostat gen 2 (its losing support later this year), wouldnt have changed otherwise. Nest had been using the old style on/off relay type control. The tado has opentherm. Its meant to be more efficient, so thats why I said Id hook up via the opentherm control.

I only mentioned modulation due to when I was testing I can hear the boiler fires up, but not at full power.
