Schedule Changes At BBC R2

Just announced today that Zoe Ball is stepping away from the breakfast show with Scott Mills taking over and Trevor Nelson taking over Scott’s 2-4 afternoon slot. A few other changes as well.

Sorry to hear Scott Mills won’t be on afternoons anymore. I really warmed to him since Steve passed away earlier this year.

Zoe Ball will still be on the station in a new weekend slot.

I'm happy for Scott Mills, he never got the Radio 1 breakfast slot so it's nice that he is going to be hosting the Radio 2 equivalent.

Definitely. Me too. He’s a great presenter and I’m delighted to see him do well but just a bit gutted from a selfish perspective as he is great on the afternoon slot.

I heard she's staying with Radio 2, though if it's weekends I wonder who will be a casualty to make way for her?

Possibly Elaine Paige on sunday lunchtime, that show is pretty specialist for current day Radio 2 which has gone down a commercial style programming direction in a big way the past decade. Like our own RTE radio 1, there was a time 20/30 years ago that the schedule was full of very specialist shows, which have all vanished or been pushed to the margins as the years went by
