    Hi there

I'm not sure if i am posting in the right area. We are trying to buy a house, Its been a very hard road trying to buy a house with prices rocketing and being outbidded constantly so we finally got our dream home. We went sale agreed in September 2021 there was an issue with lost Deeds which still haven't shown up. It seems we cannot buy the house without this!!! A hunt is on the way tracing back through history the house was maybe on a County council lease from 1960 but this is just going by neighbouring houses. The property isn't even registered on the land register. Please does anyone have any help or advice. I am heartbroken at the thought of losing this house and having to go back out on the crazy property market. Our kids have been so excited and our family for us to finally have our own home and now it just seems so out of our reach. Devastated is an understatement.

Sorry, no advice for you! Having recently sold a house and bought another house I can understand your frustration!

The vendor should not have put the house on the market/agreed to sell the house without title deeds! When we put our house on the market, and contacted our solicitor to let him know, the first thing he did was request the title deeds.

    Hi there,

Thank you for reading my post. Yes I agree they should have sourced the deeds prior to putting the house up for sale. I am so frustrated from this, its been 5 months already since we went sale agreed. No body seems to care about this. I traced it myself to a county council lease and rang them and the lady there said the sellers solicitor had contacted her before me about the same matter she couldn't believe it. I was shocked too as I presumed that this would have been done before now! Something isn't adding up.
