Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone else getting screwed over because Properties want a chunk of your money before Help To Buy kicks in?

Our house is 400k. 10% is 40k. Help To Buy is 30k. We should just need 10k to buy the house. Simple. BUT.. The Developer wants 20k upfront, and will give us the 10k back later on. Its so stupid and defeats the purpose of Help To Buy. Absolute Cowboys out there.

Hi, How did this work up in the end for you? I am looking at the scheme now. But there is a lot that's not very clear. Can I get a mortgage approval in principle from the bank, and then complete the process with revenue and they give the amount I qualify for to the bank and I have my mortgage then? Or suppose I am building / buying a house for 300k, Do I need to give this myself to the bank to get my mortgage, and then afterwards revenue refunds me?

Any help to shed some light on these would be greatly appreciated. I hope you've had some joy in your progress!

    Thanks
