Beer doesn't go "off". Various things happen with time, some good, some not good, and they depend on what it is and how it's packaged and stored. If fresh hop flavour is part of how you've designed the beer then that won't last more than a few months. Oxidation is another big enemy so make sure there's not too much headspace and everything is sealed properly if you're planning to keep the beer a long time. Even then, as a home brewer your beer is more immune to oxidation than that of a sterile commercial brewery.

Any kit beer will be absolutely fine for six months to a year if made properly.
