I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish exactly but I'll try answer the best I can.

Are you trying to purchase it online? I can't make the connection of needing an email and purchasing a TV. If they're asking you for an email address in the store, it's mostly likely so they can send you marketing stuff. They may offer to email you a receipt in which case, it's probably OK to give them your email - just in case and you can forward on the email to your friend. The reason I say that is that there's less chance of you giving the wrong email to the storeperson if it's your own email.

Basically, you are trying to purchase something on behalf of someone else, you can use your email until the transaction is complete. Emails can usually always be updated at a later stage. Any important emails during the purchase can always be forwarded on to your friend's email.
