So laptop is literally dead and need to replace asap. Only really used for Internet and kids watching youtube / playing online games.
Screen needs to be 15.6 min though and it needs to be relatively fast.
    Has anyone any recommendations please?
Can stretch to €550 but would love to get something nearer the €400+ mark

470 but worth it for the cpu power. (quad-core i5)
    should last a good while
full hd 1080p screen which should be the miniumum these days.
4gb ram which is fine for basic use but the laptop has an extra slot so you could easily add a cheap 4gb stick at a later point (20 to 25 euro or so) at a later point.
you could get a cheaper one maybe but this is worth the extra as you'd be getting a cpu that would be out-of-date in terms of perf a lot sooner.
you'd be looking at a cpu less than 1/2 the processing power in benchmark tests and probably a 720p screen.
it's a deal so no saying how long it will be available for.

Thanks a million glasso! I suppose we were kind of hoping we might get something for a bit less but as you say, this looks like a great deal. The only thing is I'm a bit wary buying from Currys - has a bad experience with them before ... but I may just have to go for it.
    Thanks again
