switch user on laptop option

I have 2 laptops both with windows 10. The newer one allows me to switch user by clicking an arrow beside where the password should be entered when the other account is on the screen (my OH was last on it) and I chose my user account, no hassle. With the other laptop, this doesn't work, it keeps prompting sign in details.…

With the other laptop, this doesn't work, it keeps prompting sign in details. There is no icon anywhere to allow me to get back to my account so I can't get into the computer. On the surface both home screens are set up identically. Help?
