    hello folks,

the concrete screed is in and I will be laying 7 mm laminate on top. The stairs is a smaller than usual as its a very old house, and is a simple straight flight.
Is the stairs simply left on the screed or should a 10mm hardwood board be placed under it? Advice regarding stair base on how to proceed would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks

Place 2 loose packers under the bottom step about 10 mm when flooring floor under the stairs pull out the packers and the stairs will sit down on the floor tightly or use an of cut of flooring with some underlay
On aside note 7 mm lam is very flimsy ok for a bed room but for a hallway I'd be looking at a nice quality 12 mm.
