I like this, but there are a few things that I would personally do (depends how much or how little you like to process/edit of course).

The sensor dust has got to be removed. Top left and right in the sky. That's a minimum.

I would also do a small selection on the darkened bottom right and lighten it a little to give a little more balance.

I would clone out the little building(?) on the extreme right as it draws the eye. I would then crop in a little from the right to get rid that white bit of sea. It adds nothing and also draws the eye. I also might lose a little sky from the top.

The point of these changes is that it concentrates the eye on the main point of interest.

Some people hate to edit, if that's you, then ignore everything. If you don't care, I'm sure you will be happy with the result.

Otherwise, it's a great subject and I would love to have the opportunity to photograph it!

Thanks very much for the feedback!

I only had my kit 18-55mm lens with me and that's as close as I could get. Ideally I would have liked something closer. The sensor dust is wrecking my head! I bought a kit and spent ages at it too. A colleague of mine said he might be selling his Nikon D7000 in the coming few months so to be honest I am thinking of waiting until then and just keeping my D40 for the small one to take photos with!

Thanks for the other points....I'm new to PS so I'll have to play around with this for sure.

    Thanks again, appreciate it!

i don't think you had the light that day. it's direct and uninteresting, and creates contrast which doesn't benefit the photo.

    Thanks for that.

I'll post the original tonight - there actually was good light (it was a fantastic evening). I actually thought the original was a bit over exposed and played with the contrast a bit.
