    Hi there,

I was dying with the flu all last week and on Friday drove to the petrol station up the road to get a couple of things. When I was exiting the petrol station, traffic was at a standstill and i exited slowly through a gap in traffic towards the outer lane. In doing so I slightly touched the car on the inside lane, i didn't even notice it but the woman in the car beeped at me and said i hit her so we drove around the corner and had a chat. I saw a very slight scuff mark on her bumper and nothing on mine. To be honest I probably handled the whole thing incorrectly as i was feeling like sh*te with illness. I gave her my insurance and contact details, we didn't call guards as she was in a hurry to an appointment, and I left it at that. Should I have done anything else or do I need to do anything else now just to protect myself? As I said it's only a small scuff mark on her car and if it happened to me i'd let it go.

    Anyways, thanks for any advice.

Call your insurance company to be on the safe . I think she will call you with a quote for a spray painting job.

There was very little else you could have done. Call your insurance company. She'll be in contact soon.
Its a pain but hopefully it will be a reasonably priced repair and you can put it behind you..

Did you photograph the scuff ?? And the Mark or lack of on yours ? It may tern out to be nothing -
On a side note , I came back to an ill lit car park to see someone scuffing the back of my van - she got out ,very appolagetic . She'd just rubbed the paint- No drama - sent her on her way - only after she'd left I realized she'd hit the van more than once- she'd pushed in a panel further up and taken off paint - D'oh .

I called the insurance company - gave them my account of things and the third party's contact details. She hasn't been in contact yet to make a claim, but the insurance woman said she'll give her a call to see what her intentions are. So it's out of my hands now.

No, i didn't take any pictures. Probably should have though, right?
