We have a beko hob and oven (not sure what model they were there when we bought the house) we went to use it yesterday and the fuse switch was down, pushed t back up and POP, sparks flew and there was a burning smell from the hob, if we turn it on again it stays on for 2 seconds and goes pop again. This is the second time in about 6 months. Last time we where told it was a loose wire. We did notice that the oven was slightly lose though so could it have come loose again

Make sure the cooker switch is off. They try the trip switch again. If switch goes again then its the wiring. If the switch stays up ensure the oven and hob are turned off and then switch on the cooker switch. It the trip switch stay up then its either the cooker or the hob. Switch both of these on one at a time and try that. with the hob only switch one plate on at a time to check it out.

Mmmmm, so tried all that and now it's working fine, granted I only tried one ring and the oven on at the same time but they both stayed on, any idea what it could be

Try each ring seperatly, it could be one faulty ring. That way you will identify which ring it is and it can be replaced

if its a ceramic hob and everything now works ok it sounds as though you let the spuds boil over, current doesn't like water.
