How do you appeal a Luas fine?

So today I went into Dublin city centre, got off at Bus Aras before making my way passed Connelly Station to collect a package. I must have forgotten to tag off at Bus Aras as I'm 100% certain that I did tag against the Bus Aras stop before reboarding the Luas.

But then a ticket inspector came along, took my Leap Card and said that I had not tagged on. She pointed out that she did see I had money on my card. So now I have to (I suppose rather understandably) write a letter of appeal, but gave me no information as to how I would actually do this.

In hindsight, I should have added that I have also reached the cap that the card would be charged, so I wasn't being charged any money at all, but it slipped my mind; my commute into work involves both a Dublin Bus and a Luas trip.

So, where can I get the information on how to appeal it?

I suppose going to www.luas.ie will be the most popular advice given...however there's a wealth of stuff out there to divert the human mind.......
