This car is around Limerick for a while now - it looks exactly like a NYPD (New York Police Department) vehicle. is it real, privately owned, do the Gardaí mind (is it legal to have it in Ireland), don't think it has Irish plates. just curious really. Often see it up around South's Bar on O'Connell Ave.

I've seen it. I think its a great private collection but on the legal side I'm sure the lights are illegal then again there are lots of illegal lights on other vehicles the Gardai don't bother with.

You cannot have white or blue lights that can flash on a vehicle front or rear facing yet bin trucks, tow trucks, council vehicles and more have them.

I doubt Gardai would do much about the old cop car. It's not as though it would be used for nefarious actions due to its lights.

Car enthusiasts would disagree. Could be worse. Could be a ford transit connect
