From their beginnings spinning, soul, funk, hip hop and disco at London pirate station Phase One in the mid eighties, Fabio and Grooverider have risen in profile to become two of the most respected names in the drum and bass world.

The start of their club DJ careers coincided with the birth of the acid house revolution, DJing together at Brixton after hours haunt Mendozas to a bunch of blissed out Shoom punters who were hungry for more after kicking out time, laying down Detroit and Chicago house as well as the early UK rave and breakbeat that was beginning to emerge at the time.

From there they would cement their reputations as leading lights of the London clubscene when they took up residency at legendary night Rage in 1991. From there they were instrumental in shaping a new sound which evolved from US techno and UK breakbeat, through hardcore and into jungle, before becoming drum and bass.

There success at Rage saw they propelled to the forefront of breaks culture worldwide and saw them tour the world together and independently spreading the drum and bass word and discovering new artists as they went, ensuring that drum and bass never became staid and constantly progressed, their influence on the genre seriously cannot be underestimated.

Until 2012 their influence as presenters of Radio 1’s flagship drum and bass show, focusing on breaking new talent and pushing the evolution of drum and bass further and further could not be denied and they continue that influence, continuing to DJ at clubs and festivals around the globe.
