Hi, I don't go to UCD but I was wondering what the rules are on going to events organised by societies....the literary and history society to be precise

Do you need to be a member of the society / a student at UCD?

Or can you just pay at the door if you're not a member?

    thanks!!

OP: Usually events are free admission, but this isn't always true. If there is a security issue or if the event is expected to fill then they will require membership and / or student ID.

So for example in this years abortion debate student ID was required. In the up coming "Jenna Marbles" event they will probably expect it to fill and require membership cards.

You can usually sign up outside for 2quid, be prepared to make up a student number, 8 digits starting with a year. For example

    09 199472

The 09 bit referring to the year 2009.

Locked, on account of a rather unpleasent back and forth that I'm currently reviewing what to do on.

Edit: I've issued an infraction to Seanchai and a warning to errlloyd for their conduct in this thread (posts are now and will remain deleted).

In addition, I'd like to remind everyone to read the Forum Charter, especially the underlined bit that describes how to confirm that you've read it, as I do come down harder on people who haven't
