Good offer that, especially Hobgoblin if it's 4 for €1.99

Plenty in Tesco Nutgrove today, 1.99 for four, great deal. Initially charged at the checkout for 1.99 a can but once it was checked at the shelf I got it for 1.99 for 4.

Do they not do the "if it scans wrong, you get it free" thing any more?

    Anyway none in Blanchardstown.

Picked up 8 cans last night in Douglas, left the last 4 for someone else, although when the checkout lady copped the price I'd say she got them herself!

Very nice ale, a fantastic bargain at that price.

Only on non-alcoholic products as it would be illegal to give away alcohol for free like that.

Nope. Tesco's policy is double the difference, no get the item for free. But you have to pay for the item first and then claim the difference - if you point it out at the till they'll just amend the price for you.

Showed them the price on tesco website clearly stating its 4x440ml cans for 1.99 and not 1.99 each as customer service were implying

Seems to be gone from Tesco's website. I tried Nutgrove and there was nothing there except 4 cans of Hobgoblin, which I bought.

Had tried that, and a couple of other permuations but no joy. Only a 500ml bottle seems to be listed on their site. Darn

got some in Greystones at the weekend - not that impressed TBH, nice head when poured, but fairly flat to drink, and a bit bland. Didn't see any Hobgoblin, which is a shame as its much nicer.

can anyone else, maybe those who've bought it, give us an idea of how good it is out of the can compared to a bottle? And the Hobgoblin too, please?

It's up on the Tesco website alright, here's the link http://www.tesco.ie/groceries/Product/Details/?id=268451153

If you can't see it in your branch of Tesco, ask if they have it out the back. I asked the manager in my branch tonight and he wasn't aware of it, but after having a root out the back, he found two slabs. It was after ten though so I couldn't buy it.

If you can't find it all, just register on the Tesco website for home delivery. You can order as much of the stuff as you want.

I could do that, but I'm hoping to sting them over the price if they get it wrong at the till and clean up tomorrow! Every little helps :D

You have to love Teso's random stock policy....the "small" Tesco in my village sells Guinness, Heineken, Bud, Carlsberg and Red & White win. I honestly ncan't remember the last time I bought alcohol there. Yet the small store in Tralee sells Ale!

Some of the large Tesco stores near me (incl. the 2 "extra" stores) I pass regularly have the worst selections ever. Tesco buyers if you're reading this - there is more to beer than Guinness and Heineken!

Whilst your 5 for €10 promo is great, it would be even better if it was more widely available.

I don't think it's mispriced, just a good deal at the minute.

Plenty left in Tesco extra in Rush, picked up a slab myself and I counted at least another 6 left that I saw. Use by states end of Feb but with Xmas coming up can't imagine that should be a problem for people.

These have surfaced in Celbridge this evening ... approx 4 slabs left as of 5pm.

They're also selling off 4 X 500mls cans of Tanglefoot English Ale for €4.00 and single cans of Abbot Ale for €1.00

There was plenty of the Marstons left in Tesco Athlone yesterday. I got some and tried it for the first time last night. It's nothing spectacular but is a decent, easy-drinking bitter. For 50 cent a pop you can't go wrong. Best before date is end of February, btw.

Yeah I got charged €1.99 a can before Christmas in Tesco Ballybrack, only noticed it when querying another error on my receipt (Tesco are a nightmare for this) anyway she couldn't give me a refund then as it had gone past 10pm! Went back in New Year and the guy was going to just give me the difference back, I then said is it not double the difference and got €11.94 back, sweet! Still haven't drunk the beer.

Not quite as good an offer as the cans but the bottles are scanning at €1 each at the moment in Tescos but marked up at €2.97 or something on the shelf.
