BlackBerry Curve 9320

    Hi guys,

I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520 just about 2 years now. Never had any problems with it, battery always lasted ages, however I installed opera mini on it to use the net as I never got the BBM data plan. But last week I said I'd give it a go, worked for the first few times on the twitter and facebook app but then whenever I would try to connect it would just say failed to transmit. Whenever I tried to reload the host routing table it would never work either. So I just text Stop BlackBerry to Meteor as there was no point in letting them take 10 quid off my credit a month for something that isn't working and I tried everything I could and searched on loads of forums to try get it to work.

I was thinking maybe the fact that it is 2G it was having problems connecting.

So seeing as I have it nearly 2 years I thought why not move onto the 9320 as it is 3G and seems to be better all around (would love the Bold 9900 but it's too expensive).

    This phone here:

TL;DR, what are peoples thoughts on the above phone? Is it a good upgrade from the 8520? Is the 3G on it good? Is it worth the money? Any info would be appreciated.

EDIT: I get 3 or 4 days battery life out of the 8520 and it's nearly 2 years old, I'm assuming the battery life of the 9320 is just as good?

I had the Curve 9330 3G for 18 months. Bought it SIM free in Dixons at Dublin Airport for 310 Euro. Used on the Meteor Network. Reduced now to about 275 last time I looked. Excellent battery life - up to 3 or 4 days depending on usage. Browser struggled to load 2 different pages usually complaining of not enough RAM before quitting.

It came with OS5.xx which I upgraded to OS6. Very solid reliable phone but useless for apps. Very limited selection and any that were any use were very expensive.

Also I didn't have a BB Data Plan but was still able to use the internal browser though not the included FB or Twitter apps. Camera was ok but not brilliant - no LED for low-light shots. Had GPS but never got to use it due to the limited and costly SatNav apps available.

The rubberised back made it very comfortable to use and resulted in the phone never being dropped. Have since passed the phone on to my daughter who isn't as easy on tech as I am, so it will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Moved to the Xperia S and doubt I'll get another BB unless something radical happens to them !

Cheers for that detailed reply. Much appreciated. However just wondering on the Curve 9320 that came out in May of this year. Anyone info on what that's like? My Curve 8520 is almost 2 years old, still going strong, just getting annoyed with little things - 2G, camera not great, speed not as up to scratch as newer phones. Little things really, grand battery life still and all.
