Sales Executive. Had an interview today went really well but heard the industry is very tough and these companies can be quite ruthless with employees so just trying to get as much information as possible. Any information would be great

It's a normal sales job. Go though the paper, competitor job websites, etc., cold calling companies seeing if they will advertise with your job website as well.

Lots of cold calling and a bit of account management.

Sales in any capacity is quite ruthless unfortunately in the current climate, but remember that without sales people companies won't survive regardless of who they are.

If you're willing to put in the effort, make the calls and keep smiling, i'm sure you will do well. And remeber to listen to the other person instead of ranting on some pre defined sales pitch sounding like a robot.

Also companies need to see that you are motivated, and when you answer any questions you should always try to give an example instead of just a yes/no answer.

Lots of companies are struggling to find the right people at the moment so working for a job site is not a bad job.

Good luck anyway, & if you are unfortunate at this time PM me, i'm a senior recruiter in Dublin and specialise in sales.

    Cheers
    Russell
