Getting a UPC point installed in the attic? - Possible?

    Hi,

I just messed up a bit. I got UPC installed about a year ago and there was wiring already done from the UPC point downstairs running into the attic.

I recently got fitted wardrobes and completely forgot to have a UPC point installed in the bedroom before I had them done. The wire connecting to the UPC box is now permantley behind the wardrobe (theres a TV stand on it). So if I want the UPC point installed in the room it will mean that I need to remove the wardrobe.

So what I want to know is if it is possible to have the point installed in the attic so I can connect the wire that is currently running from the attic to the bedroom?

It should be a simple job for anyone familiar with TV installs and cabling to do, even a sparks but UPC themselves may not do anything as they may not have installers insured to go in attics. That's something you can ask them.

Can't you drill a small hole in the wardrobe to access the cable and route it where the top part of the wardrobe meets the wall?

I had all my points prewired in a refurb and the UPC guy was happy to connect them in the attic - in fact probably easier for him than running cable on walls.
