Why is it that I keep getting this message 'The uploader has not made this video available in your country.' when Ireland is not in the list of countries where said video is meant to be unavailable?
I can't view 'official' music videos, most of which I was perfectly able to view only days ago, I know there's a copyright issue and all that but other people in my area can view them, so where's the problem? Is it my IP address? I'm assigned an IP by Digiweb, my sat broadband provider, which puts me in Torino, Italy.
It's kinda stupid, but that's how it is. However, Italy is not in the listed countries either. Anyone know what's going on? Why do I get this problem now?

Actually, when I go to whatismyipaddress.com it puts me in Torino, Italy and also somewhere near Leeds in the UK.

You will need to contact Digiweb to investigate this, they should be able to sort it. Make sure you are not using any proxy servers/vpns etc.

Nah, asked them about it before, at the time my complaint was about not being able to buy music from 7digital.ie as I had before I got the satellite broadband, I posted about it before, this is it again, it includes reply from Digiweb:

I am resident in Ireland, yet my IP address shows Torino, Italy. This is because I have a satellite internet connection (Digiweb.ie) whose providers use an Italian IP address.
My problem is with purchasing items from different sites, I've no problem with browsing, but when it comes to purchasing they tell me to go to the relevant country's site, i.e. I have to be resident in the Republic of Ireland (Which I am!) to be able to purchase from, for example, 7digital.ie.
Digiweb tells me: 'The ip address that we issue to your pc/laptop changes so there is no facility for you to set up a proxy address, nor do you need one.
If you are having issues accessing certain sites, servers etc, a proxy can be used to by pass these restrictions. As a provider, we dont restrict access to any sites so a proxy isnt needed.'

    7digital say:
'Sorry for the problem that you have experienced.
Your IP address is not ascribed to anywhere within the Republic of Ireland, which is why you have had trouble ordering on the store. You will need to access the site on a computer with a different IP in order to purchase from us. The country restrictions only apply to the checkout process, so once you've purchased from a separate computer you can go back and log into your account on the first one to download your music.
    '

Is there a way around this?? I have the same problem on other sites and I don't think having to use another computer or another broadband connection qualifies as a solution.

This is a Digiweb issue, it is up to them to provide you with an irish ip. You can try contacting the content providers yourself who may entertain you but this issue is up to Digiweb to sort.

Sure it is. I won't argue with that. Getting them to entertain it though is the problem. I'll try again.

Thats the problem though, there is nothing you can do short of buying an Irish VPN, but you shouldn't have to do this, as you are using an Irish ISP. Keep putting pressure on Digiweb to sort it, even contact comreg, they may be able to help but i'm not sure
