[Meteor] - Any point in a faster USB modem?

I have the fold out USB modem, which supports up to ~7Mbit/s

Is there any point in upgrading it to the faster modem?

I just use the mobile broadband service when I'm out and about, but it rarely goes beyond about 3mbit/s in test.

Not really, wait till 4g rolls out. If it is Evolved EDGE compatible for non 3g areas that is about as fast as it can go anyway.

It's coming up as Bearer Type : HSUPA - Centre of Cork City.

    Just a bit congested?

I tried a Three dongle in this area and it was absolutely terrible. The speeds were <0.1Mbit/s!!!

The Meteor connection's working quite well for basic browsing / youtube etc etc.

You know the golden rule of good mobile broadband speeds is not to tell anybody you are getting those speeds Solair....and there you went and broke it. :D

They certainly wont when they try www.pingtest.net with a meteor dongle.
