It almost gaurenteed that when the plugs leads are removed that in between the rocker cover and plugs which will be full of water unless this mod has being carried out before.but if it hasn't best to suck the water out.and get a new set of plugs and leads and also ring ford to get the modification part to stop the water going down there

cheers for the quick responses lads..so there's nothing more to it than the air filter plugs oil change and filter change...Just wondering do ford charge much for the kit to stop the water going down round the spark plugs...cant see anything that would stop water going down around the plugs in my car.

There most certainly is much more to a proper service than changing oil and filters and spark plugs.

No one can tell you unless they know what has been done to date and the mileage etc, it could be due brake fluid change, coolant change, cam belt, serpentine belt could be worn etc etc etc.

Tbh I find it a bit strange you are accepting advice off folk on a forum who have answered your question without knowing the history or mileage of your car.

As above, air, oil and spark plugs is only a basic engine service, not a car service.

What your car is due depends on its service history and mileage.

    ^ yep ;)

all depends what was done in the past

dose the garage that service your car fill out your service book ? < if so look in that for what was done in the past then report back

some thing need to be done every 100.000 miles
    some every 60.000 miles
    and some every 10.000 miles,

i doubt you want the timing belt, brake/clutch fluid, oil/oil filter, brake pads, air filter, coolant, water pump, power steering fluid ect ect changed all at once

all the above have different intervals

What we are saying is that 'a service' is not a generic term. Depending on the brand/model of car, type of engine, age and mileage there are different things replaced/checked at each service.

If unsure about the service history just get a full service done. Pollen filter and brake fluid change could be due too. If they are traces of water down the head make sure you get it cleared out, they are modified washer jets with a seal around them but if your on a budget just put a bit of sealer on the inside of the jets and that will stop the problem. It could have been repaired all ready.
