AC Adapters and zapper

After the floods of 24th October I managed to rescue all my consoles and games before the rising waters claimed them, but there were a few casualties. My NES Zapper, which I've had since I was a child, went splash as I lifted the console off the bottom shelf to avoid the rising water. The AC adapters from my NES, SNES, Megadrive and PS2 were all sacrificial lambs, giving up their lives so that the consoles could be saved. They were all plugged in to a power strip behind the tv, if I'd tried to plug them all out I'd have risked losing everything. I've catalogued all that I lost, so now it's time to replace.

OK so looking at eBay there seems a dearth of original adapters about. Any advice on using the generic adapters that appear? Also, there seems to be "new in box" zappers, not manufactured by NES but looking the exact same. Should I go for this, or just try to pick up a cheap console bundle with the original equipment in-situ. Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Brian

These work great for the Nes and Snes. Cheap too -

The PS2 power supply is in the console. The cable is just a kettle chord. You probably already have several in the house!

/edit - oh and meant to say, that's really ****ty about the flooding man! hope there wasn't too much stuff damaged?

I have a PS2 slim, the adapter was separate.

Also lost, my stash of kettle chords, spare plugs and fuses that I collected from broken appliances down through the years.

We were at home when it happened so I saved all the really important stuff. Lost a lot of books, my board games and loads of lecture notes from our undergrad degrees (who keeps them in the first place right?). Rented accom so we moved out promptly and hope to squeeze some money out of our scroogey landlord in rent refunds. Just a shock to the system, very stressful and I can't even play Mario Kart to calm down.
