Should I get a UPC + box?

Hi guys,

Not a 100% sure yet but could be getting a job that would mean I'd be in work some weekends. I'm a HUGE premiership fan and love watching as many matches as I can live so this would obviously make me miss some.

Anyway I was wondering about the UPC + box. I have Digital Select Extra and the Sky Sports pack, so all the sky sports, Setanta Ireland and ESPN, can't complain!!

Is the box good? Also does anyone know how much extra it is a month to upgrade to the box?

I remember a couple of months ago I was upgrading from digital select to digital select extra the person on the phone said I could get digital select extra + for an extra 1 euro per month than that of the digital select extra (really should have went with this). Could I still avail of that offer?

Does it take long to get the new box when you have it ordered? I'm pretty good at setting that stuff up so I wouldn't need a guy to come out but would it be better to get a guy to come out to install it?

Last question, at the moment I can downgrade my package as much as I want, can you downgrade from the + box back to the normal if you wanted?

Box is good, sometimes it can be a bit of a pain in the swiss roll when recording clash. Allows you to record two progs if the box is turned off. Sky allow you to record two and watch a recording. Its €3.75 a month
Ring 1913 ask for the offer, but would guess not
Boxes are usually out within a day or two after ordering. Ask for the self install, it just a case of taking the cable out of the old box and put it in the new one. Order online to get the box for free if you order over the phone its €20
Your stuck with the box for 12months, after the contract period you can downgrade for €10

Ok, not sure about this so may ask. If you are recording something e.g. a match, do you have to keep that channel on to record it or can you look around at other channels while the match is recording.

May phone them tomorrow about the upgrade offer, not liking having to take the box for 12 months before you can cancel but if I rang and they gave me it for the extra 1 euro a month I think I might go for it if a few more people on here say it's decent enough!!

It has two tuners so you can watch one channel and record one. When you think of it, its only €45 for the year. Its not that big a commitment

True it's not a bad price for the year, still I'll ask them about the upgrade that mean's it will be only 1 euro more, all they can say is no!
