Vodafone rebranding and locking or not

I usually buy sim free phones but as there's a heck of a price difference between some of the androids simfree and on the voda site, I was thinking of picking up one there. So are they rebranding and locking most of their phones or is it kinda hit'n'miss some rebranded some not? Thanks

Mine was locked but a lot of peoples are unlocked, its not that hard to unlock and the branding all goes away when you flash a new rom. There is no physical branding on the s2's anyway.
