Basically my girlfriends dad's dole is going to get cut because 4 of his 5 children are on the dole and living at home. They are 24,23,22 and 19 years old. Can they really cut his dole?

But 2 of then are living in rented accomendation 5 miles away with their girlfriends, but keep their home address for social welfare, they pay rent and dont get rent allowance. Their dad now is going to say that 2 of his sons are not living at home anymore.....what will the consequences be for the 2 sons? Could they get a letter from their landlord to say their living there for 2 years? Will they then get rent allowence? dole cut?

    Cheers

Yes his sons gave correct details when they signed on a number of years ago, there were on and off the dole for months, now there on the dole for the past 7 months. They never changed their address cause its basically the same address as there home one (5 miles away). Why could they cut there fathers dole?

Are the Girlfriend's appartment being subsidised by rental allowance. Is this the reason they're using their home address.?
The Dad's payment can be cut because the Welfare will take into account all income coming into the house, including the two who may or may not be living there

The 2 girlfriends house has no rent allowence, they all pay 1/4 each. The reason they use their home address is 1) Never changed it. 2) Its the same address(same townland) the postman even gives them their mail at their girlfriends house.

your girlfriends dad's dole maybe cut, but not because adult children are living with him. it must be for some other reason. has a girlfriend or partner moved in with him recently? has he got some part-time work? doing a course?Has he come into a large amount of money somehow? he could have 20 adult children living with him and it would not affect his dole. he would have got a letter from SW telling him it was going to be cut, how much it was going to be cut and why so if you can get hold of that letter and tell us why then we can help you.
