I will be applying as a mature student for 2011, i have a few courses in mind one of which is History as a secondary teacher i never gave it much thought as i always had my heart set on Nursing but i would like to look into it now . What courses should i be looking up and collages ? What way does it work i remember hearing you need to teach two subjects . Any advice would really help.

    Thanks

You need a degree in history (or with history as the substantial component), plus an extra year in the PGDE (formerly known as the H.Dip.). There are some degrees which incorporate the Dip stuff into them, like Music Education, Home Ec I think, Art, but for most subjects the bachelor's degree + postgrad diploma is the way it works.
