    I went,
did the tech test and passed
did the tech interview ( I assume I passed as I was called for a second interview)
did the second interview and was told to wait for feedback
    waited for feedback
the exact words I heard were
"its good news youve done very well and we shall be in contact with you next week to discuss the next steps"
so I was suppose to be called last week and I still havnt heard anything!
did anyone else go and get told something similar and have heard back yet?

I'd love to tell you who to call or e-mail but my contact in Dell has since left with many of the other staff.

Dont beat yourself up. Call up on Monday and say

"You were told you would be called to progress to the next stage and are only ringing because this is a career in a progessive company that you feel would be very suitable to the career path you wish to be on and that you do not want to miss out on this opportunity" blah blah blah

Also stress you understand how busy they can be dealing with a large amount of applications and are possibly snowed under.

Empthatise but get to the point and find out if you are still in the running or not and if not ask for contstructive feedback.

    My 2c...

I worked for DELL about 5/6 years back but went along to the Open Day out of curiosity to see what they had (a quick scan of the jobs on their site showed one that I was interested in)

I turned up, registered and gave my CV to one of the girls on the desk, then was sent to do the quick tech test, and having passed that went on to interview stage where it became quickly apparent that the role they were offering was the same helpdesk position I'd done before - except now they want people to have more qualifications and experience/tech knowledge for what is a fairly standard callcentre job with standard pay/benefits for the role (nothing much had changed from what he told me).

Like Berty most of the people I worked with back then have left, but there are a few still around - doing exactly the same job as they were then (read from that what you will).

I'd agree though that they're probably still sifting through the results as there was a fair few people there so it is worth giving them a call if you're still interested, or PM me if you have any other questions.

hi all, can any of you have did an interview in Dell please give me an overview of what it is like, i have one coming up soon. I think its called assessment day. Whats involved, I was told that it would be about 3hours long and 4 parts to it.
    1. Being the competency interview
    2. Technical interview
    3. Role play
    4. Group exercise

What i am worried about is the technical interview. Can anyone shed some light as to what questions they ask in the technical and just overall? Thanks

I went to the Dell "open day" (for me this is the terminology of a job fair - does anyone else get the same impression?). I didn't expect an interview or testing & have been through a lot of agony in finding an IT job as of late. It doesn't matter if you have 5 yrs experience in IT and are CCNA certified as long as the experience you have isn't in your field of certification. Well, I took the questionnaire, then the test, 1st interview and finally the 2nd interview & told that they would let me know (I despise it when recruiters say these things)... hand in your CV.....aaaaaaand it's gone! next! how wonderful the whole process of jumping through hoops to find yourself in the same place as you were before. Honestly, I'm not angry...a bit agitated maybe, but never angry!
