    Good line up.

Might help if you added the date though - this is on Saturday 8th May folks.

So I went to this last night.

I thought it was very odd that James Vincent McMorrow and Diet of Worms were on so early in the bill considering they would be much better known than some of the other acts there.

Any idea why this was calvin?

I find it hard to believe that Enda MacNally would headline anything considering what I saw of his act last night.

I heard some disgusted reports about this gig. Shocked with the line-up order. Makes no sense.

Considering Diet of Worms were billed as the headline act it would have been decent of the organisers to inform the audience that there had been a lineup change.

Was complicated sorting the line up, colum mcdonnell and damien clark didnt show up, didnt even let us know that they werent coming so the line up was jigged around to suit this. We put out the set times on our mailing list and a few forums (not on this one btw), diet of worms were never headlining, we only had their name first in the title as peeps would be more familiar with them than the others and they had other commitments later that evening. As for disgusting reports I suppose seeing Hugh Cooney boll@ck naked flying round the stage would churn a stomach or two. We're all absolutly delighted with how it went down, everyone was fresh and different to yer run of the mill stand up routines. If anyone was offended or disappointed you can always go to the international or the H'apenny and watch Colum McDonell and co telling jokes about bumper cars

That's fair enough. It's annoying when people pull out of gigs. But, as I said, nobody mentioned to the audience that they might not or were not coming during the night.

Well they were down as headliners on the Scoop Foundation Myspace page:
Host for the night is RTE's Emmet Kirwan ('Sarah & Steve') and headliners for the night are Ireland's best comedy group, the brill brill bril-y-yant 'Diet of Worms'. (sweeet)

    http://events.myspace.com/Event/3115388/The-SCOOP-Comedy-and-Music-Extravaganza

It's not a big issue but since I had read the info on Myspace I was expecting them as a headliner.

As for disgusting reports I suppose seeing Hugh Cooney boll@ck naked flying round the stage would churn a stomach or two.

I've no major problems with Hugh Cooney's act at all. In fact I would have preferred seeing him headline over an artist doing what seemed to me to be his first comedy gig ever.
If anyone was offended or disappointed you can always go to the international or the H'apenny and watch Colum McDonell and co telling jokes about bumper cars

So rather than accepting criticism you're saying "Thanks for coming to support our charity but if you don't like it f*ck off?"

    That's pretty juvenile.

If someone is top of the poster that generally means they're headlining. It's implied by putting them on top of the billing.
Top billing, headliner... the words themselves come from this norm. It's misleading to do otherwise.

The disgust came more from the lack of comedy than any full frontal nudity, but I'm just going on reports so I won't comment further.

Apologies about the myspace page, not my department so i missed that. Also as for lack of comedy agin i guess its what your into. All involved are doing very well in the game and yeah I'd say half thought it was amazing, the other half confused by most of it. I actually spent Cooneys set looking at my sisters face reacting to him, priceless since she didn't get him al all. We went out on a ledge with the lineup and i couldnt be happier with the end result. As for the if you dont like it **** off, dont know where to begin. The line up was there, if you're not into them, dont go to them. Did you enjoy any of it Jeff or are you just going to focus on the part that Diet of Worms went on 35 minutes before they 'should' have been on? Colum and Damien could have waltzed in at any time so it was hard to work round it. In the end you got 11 performers for 3 hours, had some laughs, killed some time for a tenner, I dont see why i should have to defend this night any further.

You seem to be missing the point though. The line up was given, it was changed and nobody at any point of the night said "Sorry folks there's been a bit of a change, etc. etc."

It's just a bit shambolic not informing people who are coming out to support your charity that some acts aren't performing and the headline act has changed. Unfortunately it's not really the audience's concern that you yourself didn't know Diet of Worms had been billed as headliners.

If somebody had been there solely to see Damien Clarke or Colum McDonnell they would have left absolutely mystified as to why they weren't on. Even an announcement at the end of the night before the DJ came on would have been something.

Yeah I quite enjoyed a lot of it. As I said in my first post on this thread, it's a good line up. I have issues with the headline act, not because I was "confused" or "didn't get it" just because frankly I thought he was absolute sh*te and by far the weakest act of the night. But again that is subjective so there you go, one row of people at least seemed to be laughing at him, although let's be honest that was quite obviously people who knew him personally.
I dont see why i should have to defend this night any further.

It's not a case of defending it - it's more that when there were questions raised you came on with an attitude of "like it or lump it" which is just bad PR for your charity.

Perhaps having one person over all your press and advertising would help prevent mix-ups in the future.

It's admirable that you guys are putting a lot of effort into raising money for a worthy cause but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth when your reaction is "take it or leave it" to your supporters. It's happened before and frankly it makes your whole organisation seem quite cliquish as if you're only running the nights for yourselves and your friends and everyone else be damned.
