    Hi there

Iam totally new to all of this but have been doing a little reading up but still ime a lttle confused an would really appreciate some help.

My current situation is that i live in a apartment with a communal fixed dish in the north west of england that i think is pointing at astra 28.2, also fitting my own dish would
not be allowed as it states in the tenecy agreement that no such thing is allowed. I was thinking of buying a techomate or a dreambox an was just wondering would i receive any more channels that i dont allready receive
on my freeview box ie itv2, e4 etc. an would the dish be able to pick up a signal from hotbird or one of the other satallites in it current positition an would buying one of these receivers be a waste of money in my current situation.

can anyone help me out here???

No you will not get extra satellite just by buying a Dreambox!! You need another dish for that! (but you are not allowed so...).
And buying a dreambox JUST for Astra 2 is a COMPLETE waste of time...all you will get is a few free channels that the sky box can not pick up.
Unless you change home thee are no solution for you.
    Sorry.

Waste of money. The communal dish would need to be fitted with a second LNB and the appartment complexes central 4/5 input multiswitch would have to be upgraded to a more expensive Diseqc compliant one with 8/9 inputs.

This is why I advocate 16way input Mulitswitch...

I doubt you get any extra channels on a Dreambox on Astra28.2E

You should receive ITV2 and E4. I receive them on my Freeview receiver!
