I'm usually a tournament player, but have recently started grinding it out in the micro levels with the view of moving up. I've been datamining using Gold Mine and that's been pretty useful to me whenever I sit down.

I've noticed that even at $20NL where I'm currently playing, there are tonnes of tight nits with stats like 11%/4% or even 6%/2%. No matter what table I sit down on, I always seem to be seated with 4 or 5 of these type of players. Also, maybe 4 or 5 months a go, everyone sat at the tables with a full stack, now I see shortstackers all over the place! Why the sudden trend for short stacking tables or uber-tightness?

I'm just wondering if it's more of the same if I move up the levels? I've built up a roll to be able to play $50NL and have played there for a while before but had to withdraw a large portion of it to pay for um, college expenses.

If I'm to expect more of the same, would I be better off transfering my roll to another skin, especially given that the only form of rakeback I'm getting is through reload bonuses?

At $20nl there shouldn't be a problem finding a soft table on I-poker. Do you practice table selection, or do you just stick with the first table you sit at?
If the table is bad, get up and find a better one. If you see a bad player, buddy-list him, and look for him in future sessions.
There is some datamining software out there there that can find juicy tables for you, but it certainly shouldn't be a necessity at $20nl.
Also, certain days are just generally "tighter" than others. Weekends are best naturally.
I play $100nl full ring on ipoker and can find good (loose) tables, so I would just stick with it for a while.

I've had to move back to $20nl after a doomswitch stretch at $50nl. I dont know where you're finding these tables! The usual table I sit at averages to be around 40/8. Maybe one decent player the odd time. When you hit $50nl you might find it a bit tighter but there's still at least 3 muppets per table. Its true about the shorties though...Often times no-one at the table has more than 1/2 a buyin.

I have the trial version of this, but am having a bit of difficulty getting it to work (i.e it says it's scanning tables but does nothing). Are there any guides anywhere that you'd recommend?

    What is eyepoker?

I'm also finding this at 20nl in iPoker. There's always a few juicy tables going but since I just moved to iPoker I don't yet have the database to find them instantly, it usually takes a bit trial and error before I find a good table, but when they're good, they are very good. Keep moving tables and you should find this level a piece of p-iss, and obviously my database and buddy list grows with every session so it gets easier and easier to find the good games as you go on.
