What can I put on my R4 card and HOW?

Yes my R4 card arrived. After a slow start finally put some music on it.
What exactly can I put on it and more importantly how can I put stuff on?
For example can I copy some of my NDS games which I have bought and are completely legal so that I can have a few games on 1 cartridge? If so, how can I copy them, how can I transfer from NDS cartridge to laptop to R4?
Also can I copy stuff from (legal) DVDs to the R4? Like music vids and Tv programs or even movies? I know space will be the deciding factor. I have a 2 GB Kingston card. Do I need to download another convertor or something? Also someone mentioned compressing movies for the NDS -HOW??
I'm feeling very dim, as if I'm on the brink of something brilliant but just too dumb to work out how to do it! Hate that feeling!!
If any of these questions are verging on the illegal sincere apologies I meant no offence and I understand you'll have to delete them but you see I'm so dumb I don't even think they are!
Thanks i love the information you guys spread around.
    J.

instructions for converting video for the nds can be found here

also there are heaps of completely legal HOMEBREW games and applications for the DS, google some of these:
DSliveweather - a weather program that gives forecasts and things, updates via wifi
scummvm - allows you to play old point and click games (like monkey island or sam & max)
dsdoom - a port of doom for... ds
    dsorganise - organiser/callendar

some homebrew downloads/reviews can be found here
enjoy! the R4 is rad, it takes some tweaking to get things to work sometines but its all worth it in the end.

I don't meant o be mean or anything, but is this not the sort of stuff you should research before you purchase the product?

Well I did a bit of research before purchasing, I still can't get the b@$¦;d working. Tried the supplied and latest kernels, Boots to the GUI, but trying to launch a homebrew app or backup of a game I own gives me a white screen. Starting to worry it might be related to the speed of the micro-SD card bundled with it (SanDisk 2GB, made in China). Any suggestions before I write DealExtreme an angry letter?

Edit : no wait, I'll send my brain an angry letter, as I'm pretty sure that it's to blame.

    Thanks for the help guys.
Yeah I did a bit of research beforehand and found out that I just needed to follow the instructions - well that doesn't seem to be the way it is for everything. Also it sounded great and well worth the investment to try it all out when I got it.
I have downloaded the updated files but I get a screen that mentions an error as soon as I click on the games icon. It doesn't give an error number or name and only stays on screen for about 2 seconds. Then the MP3 will play fine.
But it won't play music videos get a blank screen. I have downloaded all the required stuff. Do I need to do something special with moonshell to get it to do something?
Sorry if some of you think I'm too dim for all this.
And thanks to those who are happy enough to help me out.
    Cheers!

You have to convert the videos to a dpg format. It won't play mp4 or any other video formats.

    There is a guide to converting videos here;

I can't help you with most of you questions but I can confirm that I get a 2 second error message every time I access the media section and boots up the Moonshell application. As far as I know, it doesn't matter as I can still access the pictures and text files that are on it.
