    I'm starting this new masters at DCU later this year. Anyone else here applied/ been accepted for it?
    The course modules look pretty interesting. What type of career are you hoping to go into after finishing it?
    I'm hoping to work on policy development in some shape or form but don't know exactly really.

    hey I'll be starting the MA International Relations this year, but I believe quite a few of the module choices are the same.
    I'm a bit clueless as to what to do afterwards - I've been told we will receive a lot of info on internships so my (hazy, uninformed) plan is to take off overseas the second the masters is finished to do an internship or volunteer somewhere, just for the experience. I am hoping the MA will give me more of an idea of possible careers. Are you looking forward to it?

    Yeah,
    Looking forward to challenging the old brain cells again. Was thinking along the same lines as you i.e. hoping to gain more perspective on career possibilities during the course of the year. My degree is Computer Sci. and French and I've been teaching and doing some journalism in Asia for past few years so it'll be a total change of direction.Not entirely decided on what modules to choose, how about u?

    All the modules sound interesting so I change my mind every couple of days. It seems they often have past students come in to give talks about their current jobs, how they got them etc, which would be really helpful.
    I'm looking forward to it but have been out of college for about 3 years now and am just hoping my brain still works. Am leaving full time employment in a completely unrelated field (publishing) to do this so it is all a bit nerve-wracking. Not looking forward to the broke student part!

    im starting in the MA in globalisation in september. the courses listed below
    * MA in Globalisation
    * MA in International Relations
    * MA in International Security and Conflict Studies
    * MA in Development
    * MA in International Organisations
    all seem to have the same elective courses; its just the core subjects are different. I'm also not too sure of employment options after this but the courses sound interesting, that's for sure.
    My first choice was international relations tbh, but i didnt get it. I'm just wondering are some of the above courses looked on as 'better' than the others?

    Also does anyone know of any asian studies or chinese language courses available to choose? if its not available is this not quite a large oversight considering china's emerging position on the world stage?
